Dear Listener,

Sorry its taken me so long to write an update. Its hard to believe that 8 months have flown past since we last uploaded a podcast here. Now for the excuse......Illness and a major house move got in the way of podcasts. But look out for new podcasts soon.

NEWSFLASH

As the house move has brought us to Scotland we're also planning a new series of podcasts using the same format as This is England but from and about Scotland.

To recover from the stress of moving, I've spent some time this Summer out exploring with a camera taking photographs of the area around our new home here in the Scottish borders. If you'd like to see the results, you can find them on the web at www.flickr.com/photos/radiochris (click the images to see larger versions). Let me know what you think by leaving a comment either here on on the flickr page.

Dear Listener, I'm updating the listeners map as fast as I can. I'm a bit behind though this month as we're moving house, and making tracks for pastures new. The computer will be packed at the end of next week, and is likely to reside in a box for the following fortnight. To make sure you don't miss out I'm uploading three new editions of the podcast to see you through. Thank you for all your emails, please keep them coming. Regards, Chris

This is England" is a series interviews with the real people of England that are part of the rich tapestry of life. Sit back and listen as Liz Fawden takes you to meet people in England who have unusual jobs or hobbies. You'll get to meet people like Terry Stubbins, Town Crier to the city of Lincoln, a man whos job dates back to Roman times. Then theres Rick Groombridge, a man who for ten years flew the last flying Lancaster bomber or perhaps youll hear Geoff one of the last professional millers in England, talking about operating a windmill and milling his own flour.
